Built | 1997 | Zaragoza |The extension strove to respect the building and continue the efficient inner organization. In this way, the new building is a prism, placed parallel to one of the previous buildings, forming a third restangualr wing. A landscape area surrounded by circulations and rest zones articulates the links to the original building. These links make up a continuous space crossing the entire Faculty and merging into one of the entrance hall of the original building and the extension.
In order to avoid air conditioning in the proyect, the both long facades of the new faculty are covered with metal slats. In the lab side, this slats create a secondary facade to produce emergency aisles. By the contrary, the side of offices are just a metal lattice to protect these spaces from the Sun.
